In Paul's second letter to the Corinthians, he exhorts believers to give "cheerfully". Cheerfully is translated from the Greek word hilaros; from which we get the English word hilarious. So, Paul is encouraging believers to give hilariously; isn't that great! The point is that giving should never be out of obligation or pressure, it must be from a grateful, cheerful, and hilarious heart that wants to give. Since God calls on us to give in this way, we never put pressure upon people to give at Headwaters Calvary Chapel. Whether our gift is from our lips, our lives, or our wallet, it must be a free will offering from a cheerful heart. Should you choose to make a donation to Headwaters Calvary Chapel, we will be honored, will consider your gift as a gift to God, and we will seek to be good stewards of it.

But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work. (2 Corinthians 9:6-8)
